Bike the Barns 2009 route and rest stops

This year the 2009 Bike the Barns route is 52 miles with three farm stops and one water stop. Be fair warned that there is some hills on this year's route, but we have done our best to combine our priorities of safety, aesthetics, education, and ridability for all in creating this route. As usual, there will be numerous rest stops at farms with delicious snacks and water along the way. The following list below provides a general outline of the foods that will be served. Menus are subject to change based on the availability of the most fresh and delicious food items! We encourage you to bring sunscreen, water bottles, and any extra food or energy bars you may wish to have along the route.

  • Prepare for the Ride

    • We strongly encourage you to tune up your bikes and your bodies before the ride. The ride will have sag wagon support throughout the ride. As well as support cyclists throughout the ride.
    • As mentioned, the route has some hills.  If you're not used to riding hills, or if you haven't done rides longer than 25 miles, we suggest you try a few rides with hills between now and September 12th!  Bike riders will be traveling at various paces, and there is lots of time allotted to complete each section of the ride.
