Bike the Barns is an annual fundraising bike tour that highlights local farms and food. This event is a relaxed, educational, community ride with your fellow foodies and bike buddies. It supports a critical program, FairShare's Partner Shares Program, providing financial assistance to households in need for purchasing fresh, local vegetables through community supported agriculture. All pledges go directly to Partner Shares and additional proceeds fund FairShare's work connecting and supporting CSA farmers and eaters.
Double your pledge! Does your workplace match donations to non-profits? Contact Erika Jones at email@example.com or call (608) 226-0300 to set-up a matching contribution.
|REGISTRATION INFORMATION - Please read the following information before you register.|
There will be NO RIDE-DAY REGISTRATION. The ride's capacity is 750 riders. Once the ride is full, we will start a waiting list. Registration will absolutely close by midnight, Thursday, September 8, 2016.
PAYMENTS: From the day you register, you will have 2 weeks to send in your check or to pay using a credit card to secure your spot. After that, you will need to re-register for the ride.
WAVES: When you register, you will be asked to select a time wave representing your scheduled departure. Rutabaga waves are 9:00, 9:15, or 9:30 a.m. and Radish waves are 10:30 or 10:45 a.m. Please talk with your riding buddies to make sure you select the same time. This gradual departure will reduce traffic at the beginning of the route.
COST: Riders can sign-up to raise pledges or register as non-pledge riders. Pledge riders are eligible for super fun prizes! ALL riders can choose to pay $65 and raise a minimum of $60 in pledges OR pay $125 up front with no pledge requirement. Registration includes food at all farm stops along your selected route, and the After Party. (There is no discount for youth and both the Rutabaga and Radish rides cost the same amount.)
STATE TRAIL PASS: This year, ALL riders will need a State Trail Pass to ride on the Military Ridge Trail. A day pass is $4 for a WI resident or non-resident. Please indicate when you register if you need a day pass.
FUNDRAISING: Partner Shares makes membership in a CSA farm possible for all our neighbors. Help FairShare ensure even more households can participate in CSA by raising at least $100 as part of our 10th Anniversary fundraising goal - get 10 friends to contribute $10! It's really easy to share your fundraising page by email or social media, and many employers will match donations.
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES: If you have any issues when registering, please contact us for assistance: firstname.lastname@example.org or call (608) 226-0300. We're happy to assist you!
